Vegas

Two players, one number, and a score that can swing wildly on a single hole.

A four and a five is forty five. A four and a nine is forty nine. That is a lot of points to give away.

What is Vegas in golf?

Two players, one number, and a score that can swing wildly on a single hole. A four and a five is forty five. A four and a nine is forty nine. That is a lot of points to give away. Vegas is played by two teams of two, and Big Fairways scores it hole by hole so nobody in the group has to keep track.

How do you play Vegas?

Why golfers love it

Vegas is the game that turns a quiet Tuesday into a story. Your partner is on the green in two and you are in the trees, and suddenly the number is not forty six, it is sixty eight. Nobody is safe until the last putt drops.

How Big Fairways runs it for you

Pick Vegas when you set up the round, choose who is in, and start playing. The app prompts you at each step, keeps the running points, and lets you run other side games at the same time without the totals getting tangled. At the end you get one clean total per player and the shortest possible list of payments.

Send one link and your group follows the leaderboard live from their own phones, whether they are in your cart or watching from the clubhouse. Every round you post is saved to your own lifetime scorecard, which only you can see.

Common questions

How do you score Vegas in golf?

Each team makes a two digit number from its two scores, low ball first. The lower number wins the hole and the difference between the numbers is the point total for that hole.

What happens on a blow up hole in Vegas?

It hurts. A high second score flips the digits and can turn a small number into a huge one, which is why many groups agree to flip the digits of any player who makes a double bogey or worse.

Does Big Fairways handle Vegas scoring automatically?

Yes. Enter each player's score as you go and the app builds the numbers, works out the difference and keeps the running total for the whole round.

Do you have to play for money?

No. Big Fairways counts points. What your group decides to do with those points afterwards is entirely up to the group, and the app never handles anyone's money.

Is Big Fairways free?

Yes, free while we build it. Every side game, the live leaderboard, the settle up totals and your lifetime scorecards are all included, and there is nothing to install because it runs in any phone browser.
